Managing agents have a critical role to play in improving the sustainability performance of the buildings they manage. They are an intrinsic part of the day-to-day management of commercial property and often at the ‘coal face’ of addressing sustainability in the built environment.

Yet approaches in how sustainability is incorporated into property management services have not always been consistent throughout the industry. Responses have typically been as a result of individual client demands which has led to a wide variation in how different managing agents approach sustainability.
 
To contribute to creating a more consistent approach, on Monday 19th September 2016 members of the Managing Agents Partnership launched Integrating Sustainability into Property Management: Core Provisions which aims to set the foundations of how sustainability is incorporated into any property management service offering.
