Avison Young
At Avison Young, we see ourselves not just as a global real estate advisor but as catalysts for economic, social, and environmental transformation. Our team goes beyond the traditional confines of property management and believes that real estate isn't merely about structures and space. It's a medium through which positive societal change can be achieved. In the UK, we proudly stand as specialist property advisers with a significant turnover of £143 million, marking our position among the top commercial consultancies.
Our vision embraces the integral role of sustainability in the modern real estate landscape. For us, it's not just about adding value but also enhancing the performance of buildings and their inhabitants. We're constantly pushing the boundaries, with a mission to guide the industry, our clients, and communities in navigating and addressing global challenges.
Our ESG & Wellness strategy
Our 'ESG & Wellness' strategy is deeply rooted in the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), serving as a beacon for a brighter and more sustainable future. In line with these goals, we've taken significant steps to make a difference. By 2040, we aim to achieve net-zero carbon emissions across our global occupied office portfolio, targeting a substantial 50% reduction by 2030. This involves a strategic shift towards energy-efficient buildings, emphasising retrofitting and refurbishment with sustainability at the forefront.
Holding ourselves accountable is paramount. We've harmonised our greenhouse gas (GHG) reporting with the globally recognized GHG Protocol. Additionally, we've shown our commitment by joining the UN’s Race to Zero campaign through the Business Ambition for 1.5ºC coalition. We are setting our sights on aligning our net-zero ambition with the Science-Based Targets initiative.
Our commitment in the UK further echoes our dedication. In recent years, we've proudly become a signatory of both the World Green Building Council’s Net Zero Carbon Buildings Commitment and the British Property Federation net-zero pledge. We also collaborated with the Race to Zero programme through the Science-Based Targets initiative.
For us at Avison Young, it’s crystal clear: implementing sustainable strategies is not just good for business but is essential in our collective fight against climate change.
